Rooms 1-4

Our Shepherd runs four rooms for children under 2 years of age. Each child follows his or her own individual schedule. Infants are fed, take naps, and have their diapers changed on a schedule that is determined by the parents and communicated to the teachers.

For children who are beginning table food, meals are served at approximately 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. but are adjusted to meet the child’s schedule needs if necessary.

Throughout the day, children also have the opportunity to explore a variety of materials promoting their continued physical, social-emotional, language, and cognitive development. They will participate in large and small group activities, as well as experience lots of individual time with their caregivers.

Our Shepherd is a breast-feeding friendly center and provides a private space for nursing mothers inside of our infant classroom.   

Weather-permitting, outdoor play takes places twice daily on our infant playground for a minimum of 15 minutes each time. Many days the children also go on a walk.
